Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("Policy") describes prohibited uses of YappJam ("Service"). This Policy is part of and incorporated into our Terms of Service. Violation of this Policy may result in suspension or termination of your account.
1. Prohibited Content
You may not use the Service to create, store, or distribute:
- Malware, viruses, ransomware, or other malicious software
- Tools designed for unauthorized access to computer systems or networks
- Content that infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Content that is illegal under applicable law
- Content that promotes violence, harassment, or discrimination
- Sexually explicit content involving minors
- Content designed to deceive or defraud others (phishing pages, scam sites)
2. Prohibited Activities
You may not use the Service to:
2.1 Security Violations
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or connected systems
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems or networks
- Circumvent authentication, security controls, or usage limits
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Use the AI assistant to generate exploits or attack tools targeting real systems without authorization
2.2 Abuse of Resources
- Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service
- Attempt to circumvent billing, token limits, or plan restrictions
- Use workspaces for cryptocurrency mining or other resource-intensive activities unrelated to development
- Create excessive rooms or accounts to circumvent usage limits
- Resell, sublicense, or provide access to the Service to unauthorized third parties
2.3 Harmful Use of AI
- Attempt to extract training data or model weights from the AI assistant
- Use the AI to generate content that violates Anthropic's usage policies
- Use the AI to produce spam, misleading content, or synthetic media designed to deceive
- Systematically prompt the AI to produce harmful, biased, or discriminatory outputs
- Use the AI to generate content that impersonates real individuals without their consent
2.4 Collaboration Abuse
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users within collaboration sessions
- Share room codes publicly to enable unauthorized access
- Record or redistribute voice/video streams of other participants without their consent
- Use the Service to surveil or monitor others without their knowledge
3. GitHub and Third-Party Integrations
When using integrated services through YappJam, you must:
- Comply with the terms of service of each connected platform (GitHub, Figma, etc.)
- Only access repositories and resources you are authorized to use
- Not use YappJam to violate the access controls or permissions of connected services
- Not store credentials or tokens for third-party services in code or chat messages
4. Code and Workspace Guidelines
- Do not store secrets, API keys, passwords, or other credentials in workspaces that may be shared with collaborators
- Do not use workspaces to host production services, public websites, or persistent applications
- Do not upload excessively large files or datasets that may degrade Service performance
- Workspaces are temporary and not backed up — push important work to your own repository
5. Rate Limits and Fair Use
The Service enforces rate limits and resource quotas to ensure fair access for all users. You agree not to:
- Exceed reasonable usage patterns for your plan tier
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits through technical means
- Use multiple accounts to aggregate token allowances
6. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this Policy, please report it to abuse@yappjam.com. We will investigate all reports and take appropriate action.
7. Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate and take action against violations of this Policy, including:
- Issuing a warning
- Temporarily suspending your account
- Permanently terminating your account
- Removing content that violates this Policy
- Reporting illegal activity to law enforcement
We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before taking enforcement action, except where immediate action is necessary to protect the Service or other users.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
